Before The Crown

Before becoming a princess Diana was known as The Honorable Diana Frances Spencer. She was born Jult 1, 1961 in Sandringham, Norfolk, England. Her father John Spencer, Viscount Althorp, was the personal aid to King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II and her mother was the Honourable Frances Shand-Kydd.Diana was the youngest of four children. She had one brother as well as two sisters. Her parents had a troubled marriage that ended in a divorce. Her mother then ran away witha wealthy heir and her father gained custody of Diana and her siblings. Before Diana became a princess she finished her education and worked as a kindergarten assistant at Young England school in Pimlico, London, England.

Family

Through out her childhood Prince Charles and Diana were friends. However thier relationship fell as they got older. In 1980 they rekindled thier friendship and a year later they got engaged. Thier engagement was publicly announced on February 24, 1981. They were married the same year on July 29. Thier wedding was televised so the entire world could watch. After a little less than a year of marriage Prince Charles and Princess Diana welcomed thier first son into the world on June 21, 1982. They named him Prince William Arthur Phillip Louis of Wales. Two years later they welcomed thier second and final child. Prince Henry Charles Albert David was born September 15, 1984. After both of their sons were born Princess Diana suffered from postnatal depression.This as well as several other issues lead to a division and eventually a divorce between Princess Diana and Prince Charles. Their divorce became final on August 28, 1996. Once the divorce was final Diana was left a large amount of finacial settlement, but lost the title of Her Royal Highness.

William and Harry

While Prince Charles and Princess Diana were still married, and even after, Diana remained a large part of William and Harry's lives. She was seen racing in a mothers day relay at Prince Wiliam's school when he was a child. While in the royal community this was seen as something that should have never happened, Princess Diana had a great deal of fun running in a skirt and no shoes against other parents. Diana had a great deal of love for both of her sons.
